About Elena Iliadi

Elena Iliadi is a Greek-Canadian singer based in Toronto with a career spanning over two decades. She is a classically trained vocalist and pianist, combining technical skill with passionate, heartfelt performances.

From a young age, Elena was inspired by her grandfather, a talented violinist, who introduced her to the world of music and nurtured her early love for singing. Initially, she aspired to become a doctor and was accepted to Sorbonne University in Paris to pursue a medical degree. However, her passion for music was stronger, and she chose to follow her true calling — a decision that launched her remarkable career as a performer.

Her professional career began in 1997 with pop music performances in clubs and venues across Greece. She has since performed internationally in the United States, Canada, Africa, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Gibraltar, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, and Skopje, sharing her music with diverse audiences worldwide. Notably, she shared the stage with the legendary band ABBA during an international music festival in Gibraltar.

Elena has released 30 songs, including two full albums and four digital singles. Her song “Opoios Agapa” earned her first prize for Best Song Interpretation while representing Greece in three international song festivals. She also received the “Best Interpretation” award at an international festival in Ohrid.

Beyond music, Elena has pursued studies in Journalism, Dental Health, and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning. She is also a proud mother of two daughters, Clara and Nefeli, balancing family life with a thriving international music career.

Elena Iliadi’s music blends classical training with contemporary pop sensibilities, creating performances that are both technically strong and emotionally moving, captivating audiences around the world.

For her first album, Elena Iliadi collaborated with renowned figures of the Greek music scene.

Popi Pasvanti (Πόπη Πασβάντη), one of the most well-known and respected Greek lyricists, widely recognized for having written the lyrics to many famous and beloved Greek songs, was the lyricist for all 13 songs of the album. Her work has left a lasting imprint on Greek popular music through decades of successful collaborations and timeless songs.

The music of the album was composed primarily by Dimitris Panagopoulos, an accomplished Greek musician and composer, who wrote the music for 10 of the songs, contributing a strong melodic identity and musical depth to the project.

Additionally, Takis Pasvantis (Τάκης Πασβάντης)—a respected musician, trumpet player, and composer, and husband of Popi Pasvanti—composed the music for 3 songs on the same album, adding his distinctive musical style and instrumental expertise.

For her second album, Eleni Iliadi expanded her international collaborations by working with acclaimed composers from Greece, Serbia, and the United States.

Aggelos Saroglou (Άγγελος Σαρόγλου) is a Greek composer and songwriter with a presence in Greek music databases as a composer and lyricist, credited with numerous songs in the Greek music repertoire, reflecting his established role in the Greek music industry.

Kristijan Gabrovski is a composer and songwriter from the Balkans known for his work in pop and rock music. He gained wider recognition for composing “Јас ја имам силата” (“Jas ja imam silata”), the Macedonian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, where the song was selected to represent North Macedonia in Oslo.

From the United States, Jon Brown is an American singer-songwriter and musician whose music blends blues, pop, and soulful songwriting; his work has been featured on platforms like Apple Music with songs spanning several albums and collaborations.

Together, these international composers brought diverse global influences to Eleni Iliadi’s second album, enriching its musical range and artistic depth.
